Dr. Farrar Celada Endorses Wall Street Journal Story Featuring Acupuncture

Article Explains How High-Tech Tools Are Showing that Acupuncture Works in Treating Many Illnesses

Dr. Farrar Celada, owner of Broward-based Florida Complete Wellness (www.FloridaCompleteWellness.com) is endorsing the Wall Street Journal’s recent story titled “Decoding an Ancient Therapy” detailing the excellent results achieved using acupuncture.

“I am very pleased with the overall content of the story and the favorable reaction it’s getting,” said Dr. Celada, a Florida-licensed Acupuncture Physician and Fellow of the American Board of Oriental Reproductive Medicine.

The Wall Street Journal story noted that acupuncture has had real effects on the human body, which scientists are documenting using high-tech tools. Neuroimaging studies show that it seems to calm areas of the brain that register pain and activate those involved in rest and recuperation.

“That’s important information that the general population needs to know about acupuncture,  said Dr. Celada, who specializes in the treatment of infertility and women’s health with acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine. “It was also interesting that the article mentioned how Doppler ultrasound shows that acupuncture increases blood flow in treated areas and that thermal imaging shows that it can make inflammation subside.”

The Wall Street Journal story also cited a 2007 survey that indicated that 3.2 million Americans had acupuncture treatments, an increase of about 50-percent from the year before.

The government has also increased its use of acupuncture. According to the article, the Navy and Air Force are using acupuncture to treat musculoskeletal problems, pain, and stress in stateside hospitals and combat zones in Iraq and Afghanistan.
