At Florida Complete Wellness, Inc., we believe in treating the patient as an individual and not as a number. Our practitioners are licensed and certified by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and practice TCM (Traditional Chinese Medicine) and Five Element Theory. In Chinese Medical Theory, all disease is due to imbalance in the body’s “qi” or bioelectric flow. Because acupuncture and herbal medicine are so effective at relieving so many conditions, these ancient systems have lasted over 4,000 years! At your first consultation, a special computerized meridian assessment will be performed, along with a tongue and pulse diagnosis to determine which type of acupuncture and herbal treatment will be right for you.
Although acupuncture is gentle, patients who are needle-phobes will be happy to know that we also offer laser acupuncture which is completely painless. Low-level laser therapy (LLLT) is used as well in conditions requiring extra care, such as acute injuries and chronic pain. The ML 830 laser used at Florida Complete Wellness is the same one used by therapists for professional athletes to battle inflammation and heal injuries faster.
Five Element Acupuncture
Dr. Andrea Eubank performs classical five element acupuncture at Florida Complete Wellness, which is thought to have had its base in ancient acupuncture theory from the period of around 200 BC. It was through this era that the idea of the elements and their corresponding character types is first thought to have surfaced. Over the last 50 years this type of treatment has been combined with other schools of acupuncture to create what is now known today as classical five element acupuncture.
Five Element Acupuncture is a holistic modality that encourages therapeutic response by treating the whole body from the inside out. It’s approach is to treat the underlining causes of disease. A Five Element Practitioner does this by a unique way of diagnosing each person into one of the five elements. The five elements are wood, fire, earth, metal, and water. After diagnosing one’s element, the practitioner now plans treatments to bring the body into balance, and will continue even after symptoms subside to keep the mind, body, and spirit at their healthiest.
